8(a) & SDB/MBE/DBE U.S. Small Business Administration Certified

Federal procurement and acquisition policies encourage Federal agencies to award a certain percentage of their contracts to 8(a) & SDB (Small Disadvantaged Business) certified business enterprises.

8(a) certified enterprises are essentially pre-approved to conduct government work and do not have to undergo extensive time consuming bidding, qualifications and approval processes.

This federal government pre-approval certification dictates that upon issuance of a government contract, the firm can start work immediately.  The federal government holds very strict standards, rules, and regulations to obtain and maintain these official certifications. The company must prove to be an established and reliable entity, worthy and capable of providing needed services and products. The 8(a) program allows eligible firms to be awarded federal government contracts on a sole-source or non-competitive basis. Contracts up to $3.5 million for goods and services and $5 million for manufacturing are available on a non-competitive basis.
